Disc Two distinctly separates itself as it immediately proves Feelgood isn't 100% happy house anymore. The current electro house phenom has infected Feelgood's selections as well, and if your taste buds desire what is currently, and forecasted, to be the hot sounds of U.S. clubs, this disc is most definitely for you. Now, as a reviewer, I am attempting to not show bias, but once again, Feelgood is responsible for the hottest track on Disc Two as well. His remix of Black Shadow's "Atomic Disco" is plain bonkers compared to the other efforts of DJ Dan, Groove Man, Macca, and others...

Phenom has been in the fashion game for over 10 years getting his start with Osiris then making his way through several companies including Ezekiel and Drunken Monkey learning all the ins and outs of the fashion world. He eventually created his own brand of denim under his Jon Phenom name and has captured quite of bit of attention over the past few years for his unique style. Phenom continues to work on his brand but also currently consults for several brands and we have had the good fortune of crossing paths with him late last year. Starting this past January Phenom has come on board to consult and design for our clothing company and we couldn’t be happier with him on board. We now feel that we have found the missing link to help grow our line grow into the full collection lifestyle clothing brand we seek to be. San Diego, CA. - Fortune Industries is excited to announce its first ever DJ contest taking place at Side Bar Nightclub. Fortune Industries has been producing a weekly event every Thursday night this summer titled “House of Fortune featuring The Fam Artists.” The DJ contest will take place at the beginning of each Thursday night during the months of October and November until they have crowned a winner the week before Thanksgiving.

Fortune Industries has had a long standing relationship with Side Bar since first launching the company with an event held there in 2005. Since then, Fortune Industries has grown into a nationally recognized clothing line, record label and events production company. After Side Bar’s recent expansion and remodel, it was a natural fit for these two beloved companies to join forces to produce a weekly event of house music in the downtown San Diego area.

The night has been built around the launch of The FAM Artists. The FAM is a collective group of house music DJs that are supported and marketed by Fortune Industries. In an effort to foster talented artists in the San Diego area, the idea of a competition was formed to create an exciting platform for new emerging DJs to gain exposure and have the opportunity to break through. These artists will get a chance to see what it really takes to make it in the nightlife industry as a full time DJ, and in the process, The FAM may even find a shining star to join the team!

The competition will allow for eight emerging artists to perform in front of a live audience at Side Bar and be judged based on crowd response, track selection, overall DJ skills, and the amount of guests brought to the venue. Each week two artists will have two 30-minute sets to try and out shine each other and advance to the next round. The qualifying rounds will take place during weeks one thru four, the semi-finals on weeks five and six, and the finals will take place on week seven, at which point a winner will be crowned!

The winning DJ will be rewarded with a paid headlining spot in a future House of Fortune event in January of 2011. On the night of the show, he/she will receive a $50 drink tab as well as a complementary bottle of Vodka for a group of friends. Lastly he/she will receive a Fortune 421 Clothing gift bag worth over $200. Each week during the competitions both DJs will be featured on the flyer and be given a $50 drink tab as well as one Fortune 421 t-shirt. The advancing contestant each week will win a case of Red Bull Energy Drink!

DJs that are interested in entering the contest will need to submit a 30-minute mix, a gig resume and links to websites/social sites before the September 24^th deadline. Applicants must have experience performing in the bar and nightclub industry and must play house music to be considered. Fortune Industries will be hosting our 4^th Annual Bowling for Turkey event and Industry Tournament on Tuesday, November 16^th at 9:30pm. This event is a fundraiser for the StandUp For Kids Organization with 100% of the proceeds going towards homeless teens of San Diego and their Thanksgiving Day Dinner.  This event will be a fun filled night of bowling, music, drink specials and prizes taking place at East Village Tavern + Bowl in Downtown San Diego.  This is an opportunity to have a great time with your staff during the holiday season while giving back to the community!

StandUp For Kids is an organization committed to finding, stabilizing and otherwise helping homeless youth improve their lives.  The focus of this organization includes not only outreach, but deterrence through resource programs in schools and via the internet.  They are able to carry out their mission through the help of volunteers and through events like Bowling for Turkey. 

The tournament itself is made up of teams of four with an entrance fee of $80.  Prizes will be awarded for the highest individual score, highest team score, bowling a turkey (3 strikes) as well as the most spirited team.  So don’t hesitate to show your team pride with costumes, matching t-shirts, etc.  If you would like to show up for the event to cheer your favorite team but not bowl we have a $10 suggested donation at the door. 

Lastly, we are currently collecting prize donations from the bar and nightclub industry to award the winners. Any amount of gift certificate, bottle service or other service that your establishment is willing to offer would be greatly appreciated. These donations are tax deductable and we can give you a tax id upon request.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM ALL OF US AT FORTUNE INDUSTRIES!

We would like to thank everyone that participated in our 4th Annual Bowling for Turkey event and Industry Tournament on Tuesday, November 16th at East Village Tavern + Bowl.  The event was a tremendous success and raised $2,338 for the StandUp For Kids organization.  This money will be respectfully used to host a Thanksgiving Day Dinner for San Diego’s homeless teens and to help out with their general needs throughout the holiday season.

With 34 teams competing in the tournament this year and a large amount of spectators, we had an amazing turn out of over 150 of San Diego’s bar and nightlife personnel.  We were able to give prizes away to the four highest scoring teams, the top three individual scores, the two most spirited teams (best uniforms) and to the six players that bowled a turkey (three strikes in a row) thanks to the gift donations from many of the restaraunts, bars & nightclubs from around San Diego. (see list below)

A speical thanks to Svedka Vodka and Red Bull Energy Drink for helping out with our drink special.  We also would like to make a big thanks to DJ’s FishFonics, DeVoy, Cheyenne Giles and Chirs Liosi for donating their time behind the turntables and providing the music for everyone's entertainment.  Thanks to the four StandUp for Kids representatives that were able to come observe all of the support and action on the lanes. And finally a enourmous thank you to East Village Tavern + Bowl for donating the shoes and lanes for the evening and making this all possible!

Well after we completed a survey to see which week more of our friends are going to be out in Miami this year it appears that it is an even 50/50 split. So we made the decision to do our best to maintain the same experience many have had the last 5 years with 421 in Miami. So whether you are going out for WMC week or ULTRA week we’ve got you covered with our group discount rate at the Essex Hotel. Many of you stayed there the last year or two and hopefully had as great of an experience as I did. Besides the central location behind the Clevelander Hotel on 10^th & Collins, the Essex House staff really takes care of us like family. And since they are operated by the same people as the Clevelander we have an all access wristband to all the events going on there during the weeks. If you made it out to Palm Springs this past weekend for Coachella then you most likely saw lots of Fortune 421 running around the desert! We had a pop-up store  for the Mist Poolside where we sold our newest styles of Fortune 421 Clothing and debuted our Fortune 421 Swimwear line for 3 days straight at the Agua Caliente Casino. San Diego, CA. - Fortune Industries is excited to announce its second annual DJ contest taking place at Side Bar Nightclub. Fortune Industries has been producing a weekly event every Thursday night for the last year and half titled “House of Fortune featuring The Fam Artists.” The DJ contest will take place at the beginning of each Thursday night during the months of November and December until they have crowned a winner the week before Thanksgiving.

Fortune Industries has had a long standing relationship with Side Bar since first launching the company with an event held there in 2005. Since then, Fortune Industries has grown into a nationally recognized clothing line, record label and events production company. After Side Bar’s recent expansion and remodel, it was a natural fit for these two beloved companies to join forces to produce a weekly event of house music in the downtown San Diego area.

The night has been built around the launch of The FAM Artists. The FAM is a collective group of house music DJs that are supported and marketed by Fortune Industries. In an effort to foster talented artists in the San Diego area, the idea of a competition was formed to create an exciting platform for new emerging DJs to gain exposure and have the opportunity to break through. These artists will get a chance to see what it really takes to make it in the nightlife industry as a full time DJ, and in the process, The FAM may even find a shining star to join the team like last years winner Kyle Flesch.

The competition will allow for eight emerging artists to perform in front of a live audience at Side Bar and be judged based on crowd response, track selection, overall DJ skills, and the amount of guests brought to the venue. Each week two artists will have two 30-minute sets to try and out shine each other and advance to the next round. The qualifying rounds will take place during weeks one thru four, the semi-finals on weeks five and six, and the finals will take place on week seven, at which point a winner will be crowned!

The winning DJ will be rewarded with a paid headlining spot in a future Side Bar event in January of 2012. On the night of that show, he/she will receive a $50 drink tab as well as a complementary bottle of Vodka for a group of friends. Lastly he/she will receive a Fortune 421 Clothing gift bag worth over $200. Each week during the competitions both DJs will be featured on the flyer and be given a $50 drink tab as well as one Fortune 421 t-shirt. The advancing contestant each week will win a case of Red Bull Energy Drink!

DJs that are interested in entering the contest will need to submit a 30-minute mix, a gig resume and links to websites/social sites before the October 28^th deadline. Applicants must have experience performing in the bar and nightclub industry and must play house music to be considered. For the fifth year in a row Fortune Industries will be producing its Thanksgiving charity fundraiser to raise money for the homeless teens of San Diego and their Thanksgiving dinner. The last four years have gradually raised more and more money by promoting and bringing together the bar & nightclub industry for the annual bowling tournament. Last years fund-raising exceeded $2500 so we are working hard to surpass that this year with your help! Santa Monica, Calif. (December 12, 2011) – A motorcycle and a snowmobile walk into a bar…Well, not quite, but not too different, as a motorcycle and a snowmobile will simultaneously fly over water in the latest installment of Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. This year will bring together two incredible athletes who have found their way back to the annual New Year’s Eve celebration via different paths. The event will air live from San Diego, Calif., on Saturday, December 31 at approximately 11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT on ESPN, ESPNHD and ESPN3, immediately following the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Levi LaVallee has fully recovered from a crash while training for the same event last year, just hours after shattering the world record with a leap of 361 feet on a snowmobile. Robbie Maddison kick-started the series in 2007 by jumping his motorcycle 322 feet over a football field in Las Vegas and followed it up in 2008 by jumping onto – and off – the 96-foot-tall Arc De Triomphe at Paris Las Vegas.

This year, LaVallee, a 28-year-old native of Longville, Minn., will jump his snowmobile alongside Maddison, a 30-year-old Aussie now living in Temecula, Calif., who will pilot his motorcycle as both athletes concurrently jump over 300 feet of water from the North park to the South park at the Embarcadero Marina Park in the downtown area of San Diego Bay. LaVallee will attempt to break his own record of 361 feet and Maddison will be aiming for a leap of more than 400 feet to eclipse the current record of 391 feet.

On-site viewing will be free to spectators at both parks. Gates will open at 6 p.m. PT.

“I am so pumped to be able to come back to Red Bull: New Year. No Limits.,” said LaVallee. “Last year obviously didn't go the way I was hoping, and I am excited to have another chance at this amazing opportunity.”

“Jumping long distances is a passion of mine, and I'm excited to come back for New Years Eve and sail over San Diego Harbor,” said Maddison. “400 feet is my goal. It's not all about getting the world record to me, it’s more about understanding this feat and the commitment ahead to achieving what most would consider an impossible jump.”

DOUBLE FEATURE

LaVallee is a seven-time Winter X Games medalist and champion snocross racer. He is widely known for becoming the first person to double backflip a snowmobile in 2009 at Winter X Games. San Diego may not be the first place that comes to mind when discussing snowmobiles, but the lack of snow won’t hinder LaVallee, who will use artificial turf on his run-up path, which will provide the necessary grip for his snowmobile’s track to ensure maximum speed as he hits the take-off ramp.

Maddison boasts accomplished freestyle motocross career, with an X Games silver medal in 2010 in Moto X Best Trick and two wins on the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour (Calgary 2009 and Madrid 2010). He also has a successful history of record-breaking achievements and globally captivating feats. Among them are backflipping across the Tower Bridge in London and clearing the Cornith Canal in Greece, to go with his previous New Year’s Eve successes.

Red Bull’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration highlights extraordinary athletes pushing their physical, mental and technical limits to break boundaries and records. Leading up to their big night, LaVallee and Maddison will work with Red Bull’s athlete performance experts, physicists and engineers, in addition to their core teams, in an effort to get the most out of their bodies and machines. Valuable information will also be attained and put into future technological development.

After last year’s unfortunate cancellation, this will be the fourth Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. event in the last five years. In 2008, the year Maddison went up and off the Arc de Triomphe, Rhys Millen backflipped an off-road truck and just missed sticking the landing. In 2009, Travis Pastrana jumped his rally car a staggering 269 feet over water, landing on a barge in Long Beach’s Rainbow Harbor.

Each week during the competitions both DJs will be featured on the flyer and be given a $50 drink tab as well as one Fortune 421 t-shirt. The advancing contestant each week will win a case of Red Bull Energy Drink!

DJs that are interested in entering the contest will need to submit a 30-minute mix, a gig resume and links to websites/social sites before the September 24^th deadline. Our newest retailer is hosting a runway fashion show for our Clothing & Swimwear collections!

Fortune 421 fashion has been slowly growing over the past several years and we are excited that our designs have been chosen for the shelves at Graffiti Beach. This unique boutique in South Park San Diego has a blend of clothing, accessories, art and even furniture. With music as it's core inspiration this store aligns perfectly with our brand lifestyle. It has a vintage and bohemian style with a modern twist that is very on trend but still has an indie feel you won't find elsewhere. 

We are excited that on Saturday September 8th from 6-9pm our Clothing and Swimwear lines will be featured in an in-store runway fashion show. You'll get to see some beautiful ladies walking the catwalk in our 2012 swimwear collection and some handsome men sporting our 2012 t-shirt collection. For the sixth year in a row Fortune Industries will be producing its Thanksgiving charity fundraiser to raise money for the homeless teens of San Diego and their Thanksgiving dinner. The last five years have gradually raised more and more money by promoting and bringing together the bar & nightclub industry for the annual bowling tournament. Last years fund-raising exceeded $3000 so we are working hard to surpass that this year with your help! With 100% of proceeds going directly to the Stand Up for Kids Organization this truly is a fun way to get involved and give back this holiday season!

The 6th Annual Industry Tournament will be open to all bars, nightclubs, promoters & dj groups to enter a team of 4 players in which they will go up against each other in a two round tournament. Scores of the 4 players are accumulated to get a team score in which the top 6 teams will move on to the championship round and have a chance to win the trophy & prizes. Prizes will also be given away for highest individual scores and those who bowl a TURKEY (3 strikes in a row). The final prize category this year will be best team spirit so start coordinating those outfits! Entertaining the crowd all night will be the The FAM artists on the turntables so be sure to bring you bowling shoes and your dancing shoes.

We are so thankful for all the support that we've received for our project. It has been an encouraging experience to feel the love from our family, friends and fans. We couldn't be more excited to bring this project to life and introduce our new beachwear collection for everyone in 2013!  

WE REACHED OUR GOAL BUT WE'RE NOT DONE YET! 

We can keep raising funds all the way till the end of the campaign! December 17th is our deadline and we are now pushing hard towards a new goal of $25,000! The original goal was to fund the production of the beachwear products but we still have more financial needs to market them properly. We also have aspirations to design a whole new collection of screen print styles inspired by our beach meets city lifestyle. Here is a breakdown of what we would do with additional funds: 

If $20k is reached we will be able to: 

• Do a photo shoot, print catalogs, print look books, print stand-up banners, print marketing materials 

If $25k is reached we will be able to: 

• Do a summer fashion show, create new screen print styles for summer '13

We are looking for the freshest faces in San Diego to represent our brand for 2013! We have lots of fashion shows, photo shoots and promo modeling opportunities ahead as we grow our brand and look to expose our new collections. We've put together a model search competition at Syrah to find the top models in the San Diego area. On the night of Thursday March 21st, 20 females and 20 males will be invited to participate in a live test shoot with Photographer James Law. From there 5 females and 5 males will be selected to complete a live runway fashion show. At this point we're going to ask for the crowds input and have them vote for their favorite female and male model! 

By the end of the night we will have crowned one lucky girl and one lucky guy as the winners and give them each a prize valued at $1000. The prize will include a photo shoot, bottle service and Fortune 421 gift bag. Although only 1 female and 1 male will win the prize night of, many of the models will be asked to participate in upcoming paid modeling opportunities with Fortune 421! 

All that you need to do to enter the search is to send your head shots and measurements to model@fortune421.com before the March 18th deadline. Chris Tran's first film short featured our new Fortune 421 Beachwear collection. He described his San Diego lifestyle video as "Searching for some surf... and happy to not find any waves" and we couldn't agree more ...with beautiful women like this who needs waves! 

The video was shot over two days in Solana Beach and Cardiff on a budget consisting of Red Vines, Dum Dums, gas money, high fives, hugs, and iced coffees. It features cameo appearances from a 1965 Chevy Bel Air and a 1974 VW Type 2 Bus.
