Meet Allie Simond

We are excited to welcome Allie Simond as our newest team member! Allie grew up visiting Southern California every summer with her family. After graduating from Arizona State University she decided it was time to pack her bags and head west to sunny San Diego for new opportunities!

Allie took notice of Fortune 421 while working in the nightlife scene and luckily for us reached out to see how she could get involved. With her passion for fashion and swimwear we felt she would be a great fit for our Women’s Creative Director position. Plus with her work experience and degree in Business & Communication, we can already see her strengthening our team behind the scenes as well.

With our new Fashion Club launching this month it was perfect timing to bring her on to help shape the look of our women’s pieces and curate our upcoming photo shoots and fashion shows. You’ll be seeing a lot more women’s fashion from us and a lot more of Allie around our events. So be sure to say hi and ask her for details about our new Fashion Club.

Congratulations to Professional surfer girl Anastasia Ashley for gracing the pages of Sports Illustrated’s infamous Swimsuit Edition. Making the magazine is always major milestone in a model or athletes career but this one is extra special because it’s the 50th Anniversary Issue. We had the pleasure of working with Anastasia when Locale Magazine requested our Swimwear collection for their Summer gear guide. We had a fun day shooting at Wavehouse and Mission Beach …lucky for us our own Chris Tran captured a little behind the scenes footage and put together this video. Check it out!

Here is Anastasia in our Fortune 421 Swimwear from Locale Magazine  (click here for the full press page) and hopefully one day you’ll be seeing our swimwear line in the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue as that feat is high on our bucket list!

With a journalism degree from University of Arizona, aspiring actress and model Alexa Skonieczy made her television appearance in 2013 on the hilarious Key And Peele and Kroll shows on Comedy Central. Having ridden horses for 15 years, she’s excited about just opening an equestrian boutique in Orange County with her mom. Not only does she love horses, but is passionate about supporting animal shelters and enjoys making and donating blankets to various shelters every Christmas. Handsome bearded model and philanthropist Joel Alexander previously toured as a full-time drummer and guitarist, but is now currently signed with IMG Models Worldwide and expanding his career as a model. Originally volunteering at The Dream Center in Los Angeles, Joel was inspired to start an influential community-based organization of his own in 2010 called Love More Give More. As such a caring and generous individual, he and the rest of the team at LMGM help to positively change the realities of others by gaining awareness for humanitarian needs. New Clothing Lookbook

At the end of last year, Fortune’s team of models and creatives journeyed around Abbott Kinney and Venice, California to shoot our latest men’s and women’s clothing pieces for the launch of our shiny new Fortune 421 website. Beginning on a Monday at 8am sharp, the shoot overall ran surprisingly efficient and smooth for it being everyone’s first time working together! A large reason why the photo shoot went so well is because our experienced creative director, Katie Davis, and passionate owner/brand director Jason Herrick already scouted out the colorful local spots and formed an inspiring mood board of their desired visions for multi-versed photographer James Law and his assistant Justin Owensby (filmmaker). The videographer capturing all the behind-the-scenes action was Fortune’s very own music director and artist Brady Spear.

Not only did we have a fun and relaxed crew, but our models were a lively bunch as well. Bubbly, blonde bombshell, Alexa Skonieczny, killed it as our female model, while our handsome male models were the artfully bearded Joel Alexander and the musically gifted Austin Charles.

Yes, we did hit the nail on the head when it comes to casual SoCal beach vibes being blended with a little urban street influence. And yes, our shoot was enjoyable and successful. But here’s where it goes deeper than that: All of these talented individuals that contributed to our vision of “spreading a fortune of love and life” are off doing it in their own ways as well. They are all involved in either different areas of the arts & entertainment industries, are entrepreneurs, and/or philanthropists. Personally, and as a member of the Fortune Family, I love working with and surrounding myself with other inspiring and positive hard-working people that are constantly adding to the flavors of life. Every single person on the shoot has their own vision and dreams that they are trying to share with others, whether it be helping underprivileged children, creating a fun social environment, constructing music to cultivate a desired mood, or making and being part of a film to touch people’s psyche. It’s all for the greater good and the intention of sharing happiness and “fortune” with others.

All of the Fortune gear that you see in the new lookbook is available at our online shop, and a portion of the proceeds goes to our Give Back Program partner Door of Faith Orphanage.

Swimwear Lookbook

Shot on location in Hollywood Beach Florida, we had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Alexandra Victoria and talented Andrew Litsch for a second year in a row. We captured our newest collection starting at dawn with a memorable sunrise and around the beach community into the day. We had a packed week with this Swimwear photo shoot and our Winter Music Conference events in South Beach. Never a dull moment when you’re on the other side of the country making Fortune 421 magic happen and we couldn’t have done it with out our awesome team!

Kickstarter Funded

In late 2012 we ran into a financial road block when working on our first men’s cut and sew beachwear collection and second women’s swimwear collection. We had ran out of money and decided to turn to the popular crowd funding website Kickstarter to ask our family and friends for their support. We had set a goal of $15,000 in order to finish the project we had started and bring the new product to life. With a lot of hard work and 186 supportive backers we were able to successfully fund the project with a total of $17,594. Click here to view the full campaign!

We still can’t thank everyone enough for their amazing financial support for our project and all the love we received through out the campaign! It really showed us how much people care about what we are working to do and how much they believe in us. It gave us the strength and funds to get that project done and even put us in the position to launch this new website to sell them. For that we are forever grateful and will never forget how we got to this point today!
