open format dj & producer
G-roy has been DJing at San Diego’s top nightlife destinations for more than a decade. Playing alongside industry heavyweights such as Tiesto, DJ AM, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Mix Master Mike, and Grand Master Flash, has brought G-roy nationwide notoriety. Now, G-roy performs at nightclubs across the nation with regular appearances at some of the most premier clubs in Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Miami and Phoenix.
First sharpening his skills at Greek parties, G-roy quickly gained popularity and began DJing regularly at San Diego’s biggest electronic music venues: On Broadway, 4th & B and E Street Alley. Playing for these 1,000 person crowds gave G-roy the experience necessary to elevate his career. When San Diego’s first large scale club, Stingaree, opened, they called upon G-roy to headline many of their nights because they knew his skill and ability to read a crowd would keep people coming back. His open format sets kept the crowds coming and bottles flowing. The original headliners including G-roy, Scooter, and Cobra helped in establishing Stingaree as one of San Diego’s top nightlife destinations.
Due to his strong fan base in San Diego, G-roy was able to catapult onto the national scene. As he began performing all over the United States, he began honing in on his production skills. With this skill set, he released numerous mix CDs and several original productions through his own record label, Fortune Music.
Because of his passion for music and production, G-roy began the house music record label, Fortune Music, in 2006 with the vision of pairing new artists with industry veterans. Over the past 7 years, the label has released over 50 digital singles, 3 vinyl singles, and 2 compilation CDs. The label also produced a weekly podcast with sets from label friends and members of the Fortune Music roster. Notable artists with releases on Fortune Music include Whitenoize, JJ Flores, Ron Reeser, Phillip Avelar, Charles Feelgood, Scooter & Lavelle, Scotty Boy, Buckeye Red and Dani Deahl.
Now residing in San Francisco, G-roy has many more new projects and tours in the works. Coming off the 2013 Red Bull Thre3style Competition as the runner up, G-roy has solidified his name in the DJ game. He is currently teaming up with DJ Sanjay of Orange County to produce off the wall mashups and remixes as “Last Day of School,” as well as a new music blog and record label “Gold Toof Music.” Continuing to DJ a packed line up of shows across the nation, G-roy is the DJ to watch out for. G-roy’s music will be enlightening ears for years to come.
