Giving back to less fortunate youth has been a part of founder Jason Herrick's vision for the company from the very beginning. Herrick's mother endured over 10 years of homelessness before joining him in San Diego. Together they started hand making the original Fortune 421 t-shirts from his small apartment in Pacific Beach, San Diego. This little passion project gave his mother a new purpose in life as well as sparked his imagination to build a lasting apparel company.

Soon after the first shirts where created Herrick had a thought to give back to homeless teens as he wanted support local youth that found themselves in a similar situation as his mother. Searching online he found StandUp for Kids, a national homeless outreach organization based out of San Diego. He started making donations on behalf of the company by producing annual clothing drives and fundraising events. In 2019 we produced our 13th Annual Bowling for Turkey event raising just over $3000 for their local San Diego center.

In order to give continuous support the company will be donating 4.21% of our apparel sales back to StandUp for Kids in efforts to get homeless teens off the streets of San Diego and Los Angeles. We're excited to have the opportunity to partner with this great organization doing amazing work to end the cycle of youth homelessness. We hope our Give Back program can help make a difference for many years to come!
